atomic (family) units

we at kearl laboratories realize that halloween is long since over. we are also aware that everyone else in the free world is all sorts of done looking at costumes on blogs. deal with it. we have had some technical difficulties in our main office, which are only now being resolved.  thank you.

anywho, this year's halloween venture was more of a concept piece, not necessarily designed for mass appeal. nor was it necessarily designed in longer than 20 minutes... for we had a hallow's eve party to plan, and no time to make costumes. ensuing wackiness documented below:
if you're wondering what our costume is, don't think 'writing utensil.'  i won't give any more hints- let's see who can guess it first in the comments.

oh, and we also had a ward halloween party 3 nights before, which incited some more impromptu costuming. see how we did:
not much to guess on these little dandies, but go ahead and give it a whirl anyway.

I'd say that costume was the most "atomically correct" costume at the party...huh? Am I right?
Good one. I just took a test on that by the way...I did horrible. I probably should have called you guys for some help!

i know what it is but i guess i'm kind of a cheater... but even if i didn't know ahead of time, i'd be able to guess it because it's just that awesome! although i have to say the impromptu chinese pingpong master is prettttty incredible as well. bravo all around.

Proton, Neutron, and a little electron! What a great, spur of the moment idea!! We usually end up slapping on solid color t-shirts and writing a big A for Alvin, T for theodore, and S for simon. Not very original. This one actually took some serious contemplation! Congratulations!

I especially liked how your facial expressions in that particular picture all matched the respective subatomic particles -- Becca's all smiley, Jamey's kinda... we're not sure (neutral?), and Eli's not really Mr. happy pants (so... negatively charged?). Maybe that only works in my head, but I thought it was pretty sweet.
