halloween, you have been served.

this year, we had a theme. this theme was requested by our eldest son, who probably also dreams as mario. AS SOON AS the moustache went on, he went into character. every movement that he made was dictated by moves he has seen mario make. apparently mario just kind of slow-mo waves his arms in a limited range, which eli did all night long. and then we told him to run, and he did the little quick step, rapid arm run that mario is so famous for. and then we told him to shoot fireballs, and he replicated the gentle "pew pew" of the fireballs.
oh, and for 5 straight hours, he did not once break character, or said anything in eli-voice. he somehow, from the 4 or 5 phrases that mario recites in the game, was able to piece together a comprehensive italian accent, which he used for the entire 5 hours. i have never seen anything like it. i'll post video as soon as i can.
cousin gigi was a flower. we deemed her a fire flower. while out trick or treating, we also ran into a yoshi. i wish we'd gotten his picture, it was a joyful moment.

I knew that Eli had massive amounts of talent! I wish I could have been there to see it and see Scott tear the mustache off Eli's face with no thought of consequence or Eli's feelings. Okay, so maybe it's better from a distance?! Cool for you guys!
