day 1: the great wall
now, you may question the wisdom of starting a trip having a jet-lagged pregnant woman with inadequate footwear climb the great wall. and you would be correct to do so. my feet still haven't decided to forgive me yet, but it was beautiful!
at times the stairs were just laughable
but the view was incredible
lessons learned along the way:
1. either i am irresistably beautiful, or i might as well have been doing this the whole time. i felt like a spectacle with my bulging tummy- there were whispers, laughter, double-takes, and photo-ops. a successful first interaction with the locals i'd say.
2. you can rail slide on the way down...
... but this is what will happen. don't worry, most of it rubbed off on the taxi driver's white seat cover.
3. China makes us happy

Looks like a GREAT first day!---including Jame's poop stain :)
Becca, How COOL! And I love that you're a full on spectacle, how many Chinese people's blogs are you going to be showing on? And I love that you're pregnant and I completely forgot until I saw your picture. I'm so glad you guys had fun and actually had some time away from the other ninos.
And Scott came down the stairs so sad the other day asking when Eli was going to come back. So...when is he coming back? I told him never. We might come to Utah this summer for a couple weeks, will you guys still be there?
The pics are awesome...I am glad u really like China, it would be horrible to live there without liking it...but I think the way u guys are u would like it anywhere (by the way, I am talking about your amazing personalities and atitude)We miss u all very much.
