Yo Gabba Gabba rocks my world

Many of you know that we do not have cable- because we're cheap and a lot of kids' shows kind of scare me. If I had to sit through multiple episodes of The Wiggles or Teletubbies or whatever I would go INSANE. So the other day I was introduced to this amazing piece of children's entertainment and it was like a little ray of hope. Please enjoy this clip courtesy of our friends the Aquabats who helped make this show a reality.

I made the mistake of telling Jamey that this was way better than Sesame Street and he was surprisingly offended so let me say that it is a "hip" (if I dare use that word) version of Sesame Street and I would let Eli watch it anytime. Oh, and DJ Lance Rock is definitely the greatest TV show host ever! He always makes Eli dance.

Ummm.... well... that was... interesting? When does the green striped monster invite the Rolaids to the party in his tummy? I have to agree with Jamey, though. Sesame Street is plenty hip (if not too politically correct) already as it is.

I am both overjoyed and physically uncomfortable. There may or may not be a party in my tummy...

Macy loves Yo Gabba Gabba. The songs are addicting. Kiff and I both freaked out the weirdness when we saw our first episode but have grown to love DJ Lance Rock, Flex, and the rest of the gang. Check out the Elijah Wood episode. I promise it will not disappoint . . . http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=15466174

did we tell you one of the producers of this show is a friend of ours? his business card says he's a "mystical permissions wizard". also, he took pictures at our wedding with his wife. if i had a kid, or a tv, or a kid AND a tv, they would be on a steady gabba diet, 24/7.

hey jammees... you should check out the backyardigans. pretty intelligent music. it's definitely a kids show, but the episode i saw had some of the most intricate flamenco rhythms i've heard in quite some time.
