chili cook off champion
last friday we had the annual chili cook off/pinewood derby race at church. guess who walked away with the blue ribbon for superior chili? that's right- ME! i'm pretty excited about it because i've never really won anything like this AND i got a pretty sweet gift basket. and yes, there were more than 2 contestants (i think there were 15 entries). i made white chili (with white beans and chicken) and the recipe was pretty much mine too- i had a recipe, but changed it all. that's right, i'm pretty much a culinary genius. you are all welcome to bring me blue ribbon gift baskets if you're lucky enough to get invited to dinner

I can't believe you'd taunt us with prize-winning chili and not even share the recipe. Or at least show us a picture of your marvelous creation! Congratulations, though -- when it comes to food, I've long since given up aspiring to awards!
I was a judge this year, because I was getting sick of losing. Congrats!
well then miss chili-high-and-mighty, i guess you better bring the recipe to thanksgiving. and you better update your blog with OTHER news. and SOON. if you're silly husband is going to refuse to tell me before then... UGH! I'M DYIN' HERE!!
Congraduations!!! Our family is redeemed since Dad lost the Lasagna Bake Off to a blind man....of course a little credit should go to the Mom...who' been making the original recipe for many years!
