no, but seriously, he's terrifying. he speaks in complete sentences now, and uses this new-found power to command everyone around him. "daddy no go in there, daddy sit down on the couch." "eli no go to sleep, eli just need the food." he's a real gem, this one.
it seems that what they say about the terrible twos actually holds weight-- 'round about birthday time, he started whining a lot more, throwing tantrums at every turn, and staging rebellions that were quickly squashed by the tyrants, his parents. there was a brief respite between the warring factions for the celebration of the b-day:
first, a festive dinner of mac and cheese:
then, some festive decorations, with a banner courtesy of grandma,
followed by some eating of cake.
the boy received many presents, most of them made possible by pixar's generosity in licensing out every possible iteration of 'cars' paraphernalia. we are so fortunate that they were gracious enough to make millions more dollars off of us weak and submissive parents who buy what ever they slap a picture of 'Mater' onto without thinking twice about it.
later on, thanks to birthday money from big grandma, the boy scored a sweet house o' balls.

Oh he may be bossing you around now..but as soon as he gets a sibling...his little brother or sister is gonna be a personal slave. Trust me. I know.
Oh and I officially stink as being the coolest auntie...I DIDN'T EVEN SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! tell the child auntie smalls is not as big of a loser as she seems. Then tell him happy birthday.
I forgot about Eli's birhday too, but that's permissable for a greatgrandchild since that means I'm old and forgetful. I hope he had ahappy day and so did the parents. Becca, is the Daniel who is in the MTC your brother? Jamey's cousin Chris goes in this Wednesday; he'll probably be there until Oct 27th but they just possibly might meet.
yes, my youngest brother Daniel is in the MTC until November. Elder Lawler (except the tag will be in Japanese). I'll tell him to keep a lookout for Chris.

Sweet cheeks! Love it, love it, love it... Each new year brings so many joyful things to celebrate. Like potty training!!! Aren't you lucky?!
Hi Becca,
Cute pictures!! You and Kelsey will have to compare notes on how to "discipline" a 2 year old - she is just getting into all of that now. Good Luck!
Terrible two's are so much fun. I can't believe how big (and cute) he is!
Hey, how come we have to hear really big news in a round about way? (I'm not talking about Eli!)
