i realize we post a lot of what we do when we leave this area, but we've been finding some fun events around here too. a couple weeks ago the fire station had an open house. it was impressive. they did a demonstration of the jaws of life and entirely dismantled a car, smashing the windows, cutting off the roof and everything. eli wasn't sure why they had to tear the car apart, but it was amazing.
the boys got to tour some firetrucks, an ambulance, and put on some authentic firefighter gear. miles was the only one who elected to try it on though- eli hung around the punch and cookies.
at the end the boys got to aim an actual fire hose at a target. it was a pretty fantastic day!
